Lead Hand
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Hand to oversee and assist with daily construction activities. The Lead Hand will work closely with the Foreman to ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards of quality.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Foreman in planning and scheduling daily work activities.
Lead and supervise a team of carpenters and labours, ensuring tasks are completed on time and within specifications.
Perform hands-on construction tasks, including but not limited to framing, concrete work, carpentry, and finishing.
Ensure adherence to safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
Monitor the quality of work performed and report any issues to the Foreman.
Train and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Communicate effectively with team members, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
Assist with the procurement and management of materials and equipment.
Skills:
5 years proven experience in the construction industry. Ideally, Red Seal Certified
Previous supervisory experience or demonstrated leadership skills.
Proficient in reading blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
Strong understanding of construction methods, tools, and equipment.
Excellent leadership, organizational and communications skills.

Carpenter
The carpenter is expected to lead and carry out all aspects of residential house building. This position requires proficient knowledge and skill in all aspects of carpentry including: foundations, framing, siding and finishing.
A Carpenter has a physically strenuous and demanding job and will have to work in all weather, and must be prepared for both wind, rain, cold and heat.
SKILLS
At least 3 years of residential carpentry experience. Ideally, you will be a Red Seal Certified Carpenter
Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
Can effectively work in a team atmosphere
Ability to communicate with your team and clients
Ability to work with little supervision
Can take direction
Ability to read and interpret plans
Delegate task, lead your team, and direct trades
Highly organized
Attention to detail in everything you do onsite
Must have own transportation

Labourer
The Labourer is responsible for assisting the Carpenters in completing their assigned tasks. They are expected to assist with the delivery of materials to the building site(s), maintain a clean and safe work site(s), Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient way, dispose of garbage, operate basic hand tools such as saws, shovels, rakes, etc, operate basic power tools such as saws, pneumatic nailers, etc. The Labourer at times may have to interact with residents and members of the public in a courteous and friendly manner.
The Labourer has a physically strenuous and demanding job and will have to work in all weather, and must be prepared for both wind, rain, cold and heat.
SKILLS
Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools
Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures
Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
Can effectively work in a team atmosphere
Effective verbal and listening communications skills
